About the Role:
Job Description – Application Support Backfill
Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Systems, you will be stepping in to backfill a role to support a team member who is being reallocated to a critical project, while they focus on this initiative, you will provide primary and secondary application support for a suite of business systems (On-Prem and Cloud), ensuring continuity in issue tracking, problem determination and resolution, documentation, testing, and change management. The team member you are backfilling for will remain on the team and will be available for cross-training and knowledge transfer.
You will ensure that systems remain up to date by performing system upgrades and coordinating with system users for testing. Additionally, you will administer security settings, manage permission changes, and ensure compliance with Organizations IT General Controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support applications by maintaining close liaison with vendor and application users
- Provide support for application maintenance, modification and enhancement as needed through problem solving, database development, testing and documentation
- You will be responsible for troubleshooting backend issues using SQL and occasionally generating reports with SQL or business intelligence tools like Power BI and Excel. This includes analyzing data, identifying root causes, optimizing queries, and ensuring data accuracy to support business operations and decision-making. Provide identification, tracking and resolution of application problems on a day-to-day basis, including compensated evening and weekend support, as required
- Conduct business application security and administration in accordance with policies and procedures
- Implement changes to application configurations, updates or hot fixes as required, following approved Change Management procedures and documenting all changes pre and post change implementation
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration
- Manage testing of updates, patches, and/or hot fixes related to business applications or infrastructure in pre-production environments
- Promptly informing clients of critical issues and provide regular updates on progress and resolution details
- Regularly monitoring systems servers to ensure optimal operation, including but not limited to:
- Monitoring of automated job and recovery operations
- System performance & health
About You
What We Need from You:
Skills:
- Data Analysis fundamentals, including advanced knowledge SQL query-writing
- Knowledge of on-premise and cloud computing fundamentals, including Azure, Windows Server and Linux
- Knowledge of operating and supporting applications within Citrix framework
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and deal with shifting priorities
Experience:
- You have a high degree of IT systems knowledge, business functions, are an impressive communicator, and are obsessive about optimizing processes and creating high-performing teams.
- Experience with integrations within a hybrid of Cloud and On-Premise Environments
- Experience with the following languages a plus: Python, PowerShell, VBA, .Net, SQL, JQL, Java
- Minimum of 5 years working in Information Technology
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
- Must have experience in an enterprise Windows-based environment
- Experience with the Media industry is an asset
- Experience following ITIL standards, such as Incident Response and Change Management
- Experience working on an Agile product team is an asset
- Solid track record of going above-and-beyond to deliver new ideas and initiatives and proactively solving technical and business problems

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$35.00 and CA$45.00
