Position Title: Business Analyst – IT
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 months
Story Behind the Need
Business group: Client Engineering – Mobile and Web – Applications – mobile engineering team – supporting retail mobile applications, supporting digital banking applications (desktop banking)
Project: No specific project, project related to mobile banking application in payments domain
Candidate Value Proposition:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to mobile banking, to an Agile work environment and work in payments for one of the top 5 Canadian Banks.
Typical Day in Role:
- Drive joint application design solutioning sessions with our architecture, development, and security architecture teams that inform high-level estimates for large and medium-sized incoming initiatives
- Facilitate gathering and design sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements, and turn them into use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, etc. to meet development and stakeholder needs.
- Create, refine and maintain the product backlog and associated deliverables, release backlog with forecasted delivery timelines
- Bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional (for business needs) and non-functional requirements (such as reporting, performance, interfaces, and constraints.)
- Help improve and drive our engineering practices by providing valuable input and suggestions as to what works well and what can be done better
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 8+ years of relevant working experience, with 3-5 years of BSA experience, preferably within FI/banking
- 2+ years previous experience with Payments projects
- 3+ years’ experience in API documentation
- 2+ years’ Mobile banking experience
- 3+ years’ experience within an Agile environment using JIRA/Confluence
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Certified Scrum Master
- Postman experience
Soft Skills Required:
- Good communication skills
- Stakeholder management skills
Education:
- Post-Secondary, in a technical background preferred
- CSM an asset
- CBAP an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Ideal candidate has worked on recent mobile banking projects, APIs, has used Jira and Confluence, knows how to work in an Agile framework
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$53.00 and CA$63.00
