Job Title: Controller

Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our organization. Based onsite at our Cornwall, Ontario facility and reporting directly to the VP Finance, the Controller will lead the accounting team, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and support decision-making through timely analysis and insight. This role is hands-on and requires someone who can balance leadership with operational execution in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
· Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/ASPE/IFRS (as applicable)
· Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance
· Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in collaboration with the VP Finance and operational leaders
· Provide financial analysis and insights to support business performance, cost management, and strategic initiatives
· Support cost accounting and inventory management processes, including variance analysis and margin reporting
· Coordinate and manage external audits and liaise with auditors as needed
· Oversee tax compliance and reporting requirements, working with external advisors as appropriate
· Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives within finance and accounting
· Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and accountability
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred)
· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
· Strong knowledge of GAAP/ASPE/IFRS and internal control practices
· Proven experience managing financial close and reporting processes
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Strong communication and leadership abilities with the capacity to work cross-functionally
Preferred Attributes
· Experience in the manufacturing industry (cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance exposure)
· Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central considered an asset
· Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$140.00 and CA$110,000
