Business Intelligence Analyst
13 Month Contract
Markham- Largely remote, on site as required
Job Summary
In this role, the successful candidate will serve as an operational data subject matter expert (SME) within the organization in topics ranging from PSP, Pharmacy, finance and visualization and data presentation best practices. This role specializes in collecting, organizing and analyzing data from various resources and translating it into compelling reports and presentations for internal and external clients.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop reports, dashboards and self-serve data products using Power BI and Excel.
- Evaluate source data and build views required for high performing reporting and analytics.
- Practical knowledge of programming software and languages used for report building and data analysis. PBIX, RDL, DAX, and SQL are mandatory. Knowledge and experience with Python is helpful.
- Collaborate regularly with various cross functional departments and stakeholders to understand their business reporting needs and requirements
- Generate analytical insights that drive the performance of a large-scale programs
- Support the team with mining data, data insights, data availability through producing reports and dashboards
- Assist in identifying opportunities in the business and works to produce impactful analysis
- Examine reporting relationships to increase end-user productivity, availability, and accuracy
- Working with the technical team to establish protocols to extract data in a standardized process from a variety of data sources
- Analyzing large amounts of data to provide concise, targeted reports for internal and external clients
- Able to work independently and with team to gather requirements and provide process recommendation to stakeholders
- Identify areas of opportunity to make a difference through the use of data
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Business is an asset.
- 3-5 years of working experience navigating relational databases via SQL and NoSQL architectures
- Strong knowledge of PBIX and DAX is required
- Ability to write high performance SQL queries, including concepts like subqueries, common table expressions, and window functions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects through effective prioritization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to be highly creative in formulating solutions.
- Knowledge of data visualization and building dashboards in Power BI is a strong asset
- Knowledge of Data Lakehouse setup on Databricks is a strong asset.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$35.00 and CA$50.00
