Position: iOS Team Lead

Location: Toronto (hybrid 3-4 days onsite)

Duration: expected 6 Months 

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned iOS Team Lead to join a leading Canadian bank’s Payments & Loyalty division, driving the delivery of innovative mobile pilot projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Swift, strong engineering practices, and proven experience leading iOS development teams in an Agile environment. This is a highly visible role requiring collaboration with product, design, and enterprise technology teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions in the financial services space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of iOS engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance coaching.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend teams to deliver seamless, customer-focused mobile experiences.
  • Drive Agile practices within the team, ensuring iterative delivery, backlog management, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a hands-on contributor, reviewing code, setting coding standards, and ensuring technical excellence.
  • Architect mobile solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and performance, particularly within payments and loyalty use cases.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the bank to manage pilot project lifecycles, from concept through deployment.
  • Identify risks, propose solutions, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in iOS development, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or team lead capacity.
  • Advanced proficiency in Swift, with strong knowledge of iOS SDKs, UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, and related frameworks.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments, ideally within large enterprises or financial institutions.
  • Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture).
  • Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality practices.
  • Strong knowledge of App Store submission, provisioning, and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with mobile security, encryption, and compliance best practices (financial services experience strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, mentor, and collaborate across business and technical teams.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in payments, loyalty, or fintech.
  • Exposure to backend APIs and integration with enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or cross-platform frameworks.
  • Banking or large-scale enterprise program experience.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$100.00
