Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver high-impact initiatives within a Capital Markets environment. This role involves managing complex, cross-functional projects involving trading, risk, regulatory compliance, or technology transformation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial services, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
This is a 6-month contract role, with the potential to extend up to 24 months based on project needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of capital markets-related projects, including business, regulatory, and technology initiatives.
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front office, operations, risk, compliance, and IT.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting to stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Ensure all project documentation and governance requirements are met.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, manage expectations, and ensure alignment across business units.
- Support change management activities and ensure business readiness upon project delivery.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects in financial services, with a focus on capital markets or investment banking.
- Strong experience with projects involving trading platforms, regulatory initiatives, data integration, or risk systems is highly valued.
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
Skills:
- Solid understanding of capital markets products (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior executives.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet).
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$100.00
