Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Control Officer (PCO) to support the successful delivery of strategic initiatives in a Capital Markets environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project governance, financial tracking, reporting, and stakeholder coordination within a complex financial or technology-focused project portfolio.
This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension up to 24 months, depending on performance and project demand.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project and Program Managers in the execution and governance of capital markets projects.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including status reports, risk logs, action items, and change requests.
  • Track and reconcile project budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variances on a regular basis.
  • Manage project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and prepare materials for steering committees, governance forums, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to project management frameworks, methodologies, and internal compliance standards.
  • Assist in onboarding resources and managing access, time tracking, and billing coordination.
  • Support audit, QA, and control processes by ensuring proper documentation and artifact retention.
  • Collaborate with finance, procurement, technology, and other internal teams to ensure smooth project operations.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project Control Officer, PMO Analyst, or Project Coordinator role, preferably in financial services or capital markets.
  • Familiarity with projects involving trading systems, regulatory initiatives, or financial technology is an asset.

Skills:

  • Proficient in project tracking tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and forecasts.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction at various levels.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid approaches).

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$85.00
