Role Summary
We’re seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Enterprise Architecture team. Reporting to the Solution Architect within the Enterprise Architecture team, you’ll help design, build, and operate secure Azure environments that power our healthcare platforms. This hands-on role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their Azure expertise in infrastructure, automation, and compliance, while working closely with architects and developers.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Platform Support

  • Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
  • Support multi-environment architecture (Dev/Test/UAT/Production) with proper security controls
  • Configure Azure networking components including VNets, private endpoints, NSGs, and Key Vault
  • Assist with Azure security services including RBAC, Azure Policy, and Managed Identities

 DevOps & Automation

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps YAML
  • Create and update deployment automation scripts using PowerShell and/or Python
  • Support environment provisioning and application deployments
  • Contribute to pipeline templates and Infrastructure-as-Code modules

Collaboration & Learning

  • Work closely with development teams to deploy applications to cloud platforms
  • Participate in architecture discussions and learn platform best practices
  • Collaborate with the Software Architect on platform improvements

Governance & Monitoring

  • Implement tagging strategies and resource organization standards
  • Contribute to FinOps practices, including right-sizing resources and tracking reserved instance usage
  • Support compliance requirements for healthcare
  • Configure monitoring and alerting with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud engineering, Azure DevOps, or platform engineering roles
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Azure experience
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep)
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Basic scripting skills in PowerShell or Python (both preferred)
  • Understanding of Azure core services (VMs, Storage, Networking, Entra ID, Security)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to balance delivery speed with security, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure certifications
  • Experience with .NET/C# application environments
  • Knowledge of healthcare or regulated industry requirements
  • Experience with YAML pipeline development
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Application Insights)

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$125,000 and CA$150,000
