Job Title: Senior Installation Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: Fulltime
My client is looking to bring on an Installation focused Engineer for a major rail transit program in the GTA. This person will help plan and coordinate cable routing and installation along guideway and inside technical areas, working closely with civil and systems teams to make sure everything is built safely, correctly, and to spec.
This role suits someone who has hands-on experience delivering large infrastructure projects, especially where electrical, civil, and installation scopes overlap. If you like problem solving between design and field execution, you will enjoy this one.
What you will be doing
• Supporting cable routing and installation planning from design packages
• Coordinating new cable paths and ensuring constructability and proper capacity
• Working closely with civil and systems engineering teams to solve interface challenges
• Making sure designs and installation methods follow contract requirements and local electrical rules
• Reviewing and documenting design updates and quality activities
• Participating in technical meetings and supporting site coordination
• Working in a digital design environment (BIM) to support integrated delivery
What you bring
• About 5 to 10 years in large-scale infrastructure or transit projects
• Strong knowledge of cable management systems, pathways, and installation practices
• Comfortable working with civil design teams and subcontractors
• Understanding of requirements tracking and design interface control
• Experience supporting work from office to site environments
• Detail oriented and accountable with strong ownership
• Ability to work on site as needed
Nice to have
• BIM or 3D design tool experience (Revit experience would be helpful)
• Previous construction exposure around electrical or civil works
• P.Eng in Ontario preferred
Education
• Degree in civil or electrical engineering or a similar technical field
• Strong communication skills in English
• Ability to pass security screening
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$130,000 and CA$140,000
