Position Title: Construction Director – Major Energy Infrastructure Project
Location: Pickering, Ontario (Hybrid / On-Site)
Estimated Duration: Fulltime
Purpose of the Role
The Construction Director is a senior leadership position responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of construction activities on a major Canadian energy infrastructure refurbishment project. Reporting to the Project Director, the successful candidate will drive performance across safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives while fostering a cohesive project team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution

Lead all site execution activities, ensuring adherence to project milestones and standards.

Oversee logistics and material movement to optimize cost and performance.

Build and mentor high-performing construction teams, ensuring clear accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and client stakeholders to align construction strategies.

Maintain strong working relationships across project management and field execution groups.
Safety, Quality & Compliance

Lead by example in nuclear safety and environmental compliance culture.

Ensure full adherence to QA/QC programs and OHSA standards.
Financial & Operational Oversight

Manage project budgets, progress reporting, and risk mitigation strategies.

Support planning and forecasting for manpower, materials, and equipment.
Workforce Planning & Development

Develop succession planning and performance management frameworks.

Build engagement and trust with trades and field supervisors.
Required Experience & Skills
-
20+ years of construction leadership experience, preferably in nuclear, energy, or large-scale EPC projects.

Strong understanding of QA/QC and safety systems.

Proven success managing unionized workforces and large construction teams.

Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Eligible for security clearance; must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$200,000 and CA$250,000
