Job Title: SQL Developer – Data Warehouse & Integration (6+ Years Experience)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer with over 6 years of experience in SQL Server data warehousing, ETL/SSIS development, and cloud-based data integration. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data pipelines — with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM) integration, Dataverse, and Azure ecosystem components.
This position requires hands-on expertise with T-SQL, SSIS (including advanced connectors such as KingswaySoft), and strong understanding of PolyBase, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLSg2), and Delta Lake tables for high-performance hybrid data solutions. You will collaborate closely with the Team Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and performant data solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server-based data warehouse structures, including fact and dimension tables, staging areas, and ETL frameworks.
- Develop and optimize ETL packages using SSIS, including advanced components (e.g., KingswaySoft for Dynamics 365 integration) and other third-party connectors to extract and load data between on-prem SQL Server, Dataverse, and ADLSg2.
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources — including on-prem and cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, functions, and performance-tuned SQL queries to support analytics and operational reporting.
- Integrate with Microsoft Dynamics CRM APIs, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
- Support and enhance SSRS canned reports, including scheduled reports, parameterized dashboards, and role-based access controls.
- Work collaboratively under the Team Lead to ensure delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable data solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and deployment processes.
- Identify and troubleshoot data quality or performance issues and propose optimized solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest SQL Server, Azure Data Services, and ETL best practices.
- Stay up to date with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Dataverse, ADLS, Delta Lake, and SQL Server feature advancements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience as a SQL Developer or Data Warehouse Developer.
- Strong command of Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) including T-SQL optimization and indexing strategies.
- Advanced experience with SSIS including KingswaySoft, ZappySys, or similar advanced data connectors.
- Proven experience integrating data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM (Online/On-Prem) and Dataverse via OData, APIs, or other connectors.
- Hands-on experience with data warehouse design, star/snowflake schemas, and ETL frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLSg2), Delta Lake / Delta Tables, and Azure SQL Database.
- Experience developing and maintaining SSRS reports.
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, or other cloud-based ETL tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under the direction of a Team Lead.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, or Power BI dataset integration.
- Knowledge of Data Lake / Delta Lake architectures.
- Exposure to version control (Team foundation server /Git/Azure DevOps) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices (encryption, masking, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
