Agile Coach – Part time / Short term
Selected individual will support a division-wide business agility transformation, designed to improve time to market, quality, sustainability, and cross-divisional collaboration. Working closely with senior leaders, teams, and existing LACE team, the vendor will lead a structured discovery, design, and capability-building process to establish the foundation for an adaptive, people-centered transformation.
The engagement will involve deep collaboration with executive stakeholders and operational teams to understand current challenges, identify opportunities, and cocreate a transformation approach grounded in the Client’s priorities and context. This includes designing and facilitating workshops, conducting interviews, performing assessments, and synthesizing insights to inform a clear transformation vision and roadmap.
The expected outcome of this assignment is a clear, actionable transformation roadmap, strengthened leadership alignment, enhanced internal coaching capaClient, and a set of practical tools, frameworks, and training materials that enable to division to continue the transformation independently.
The role may be structured as a part-time position, with work scheduled twice a week depending on operational needs and the contractor’s availability. If this option is chosen, the contract will initially cover 325 working hours, with the possibility of extending for an additional 325 hours.
Duties
The Agile Coach is responsible for:
• Engage with executive teams and stakeholders; partner closely with existing Agile CoE team.
• Co-design and facilitate workshops to explore drivers, challenges, priorities, and expectations.
• Identify areas of misalignment and opportunities for improvement.
• Support alignment with senior leaders and the Technology Division around a shared vision and guiding principles for transformation.
• Develop an agility-focused transformation roadmap and change management strategy informed by discovery and grounded in reality.
• Establish a maturity assessment framework that captures all dimensions required for a successful transformation.
• Create tailored training materials to introduce business agility concepts across the division.
• Develop tailored leadership materials.
• Design and deliver a coaching competency framework/program to strengthen the Agile CoE team.
• Provide expert, hands-on coaching to leaders, while guiding the Agile CoE team in building the same capability.
• Produce recommendations and artifacts that support internal change (e.g., stakeholder maps, governance models for agile teams).

Ensure a knowledge transfer plan is in place to maintain continuity of transformation.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
• Agile Coaching certification (e.g., ICE-AC or equivalent)
• Minimum 10 years of experience coaching executives and teams.
• Proven expertise in Enterprise Transformation Strategy and Execution, Organizational Change Management, and Business Agility.
• Proficiency in Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, Agile and Lean approaches (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Strong verbal, written, collaboration, and presentation skills. • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
• ORSC (Organizational Relationship Systems Coach)
• CTTC (Certified Transformation Team Coach)
• Lean Change Management certification
• Co-Active Coach certification
• LeSS or Disciplined Agile certifications
Deliverables
1. Discovery and insights package
A consolidated list of findings that provide a clear view of the division’s current state, so that we can establish a shared understanding of current state and transformation drivers. Could include: 1a. Executive and team interview summaries
1b. Workshop outputs (drivers, challenges, priorities, expectations)
1c. Assessment of alignment gaps and systemic issues
1d. Identification of high-value opportunities for improvement
1e. Synthesis of themes and patterns
2. Business Agility Maturity Assessment framework
A custom framework that reflects the division’s context to provide a repeatable measurement for transformation. Including:
2a. Defined assessment dimensions (eg. Leadership, governance, delivery, culture, customer and product centriClient, data, technology)
2b. Rating scale and criteria
2c. Assessment tools (surveys, interviews, facilitated assessments, etc) 2d. Baseline maturity assessment results
3. Transformation Vision and Guiding Principiles
Co-created with senior leaders and aligned with TSD, to anchor transformation work in shared direction and expectations
4. Division-wide transformation roadmap
A practical, realistic roadmap that guides implementation with a structured, adaptive plan. It may include:
4a. strategic priorities
4b. Sequenced initiatives
4c. Dependencies and assumptions
4d. Phased change approach across teams
4e. Estimated timelines and milestones
5. Organizational change management (OCM) strategy
A strategy to support adoption and sustainment so that transformation is supported, not just designed. We have an OCM team, whom vendor can work closely with.
6. Tailored Business Agility Learning materials
Customized learning content for the division so we can build shared understanding across all levels. Again, we do have a Lean Agile Center of Enablement, with whom the vendor can work to create this content.
7. Leadership Development Package
Leadership-focused materials, such as leadership agility principles, guide for leading in an agile environment, role clarity, so they can champion and model new ways of working.
8. Agile Coaching and Competency Framework and program
A capability-building package for the LACE team, so we can strengthen internal coaching capabilities and reduce vendor dependencies. Vendor will not be starting from scratch, and this will be a partnership with LACE.
9. Governance and ways of working recommendations
Artifacts supporting improved collaboration, flow, clarity to provide structural supports for agility at TSD.
10. Hands on coaching and facilitation
Vendor-delivered coaching and facilitation to directly support leaders and model effective coaching for internal teams.
11. Knowledge Transfer Plan
A sustainability-focused plan, to ensure continuity after vendor departure
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$85.00 and CA$105.00
