What You Will Do:
- Manage Data Initiatives Portfolio: Oversee a diverse portfolio of data initiatives, including data warehouses, integration projects, and analytics platforms.
- Oversee and manage the intake process for data requests, ensuring proper documentation, prioritization, and timely execution.
- Ensure comprehensive data initiative scoping, management, and delivery, while providing timely progress reports.
- Develop and enforce change control procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements during system changes and updates.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between business users, data engineers, and governance teams.
- Facilitate effective communication to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on initiative goals and requirements.
- Collaborate with Data Governance and Data Management Analysts to ensure that data policies, standards, and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented throughout projects and initiatives, maintaining compliance with data quality, privacy, and security requirements.
- Work with different teams, including data users, IT, and other stakeholders, to understand their data needs and provide input to solutions.
- Governance and Quality Alignment: Ensure all data projects and initiatives adhere to established governance policies and quality standards.
- Develop and implement processes in coordination with Data Governance Analysts and Data Management Analysts to monitor compliance throughout the data lifecycle.
- Project Monitoring and Delivery: Prioritize and balance multiple projects and initiatives to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Identify potential roadblocks or delays and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Product Ownership: Act as the product owner for enterprise data platforms.
- Define product vision, roadmap, and priorities in alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure continuous improvement and evolution of data platforms to meet organizational needs.
- Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data initiatives.
- Regularly report on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Innovation and Best Practices:
- Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management.
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance data capabilities.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members involved in data projects.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to data initiatives and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure robust risk management processes are in place across all projects.
What You Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related programs.
- Proven leadership experience in managing projects and delivering data solutions that support cross-functional needs within corporate environments.
- Understanding of business needs and how data can be used to support those needs.
- Knowledge in Enterprise Data Management, data Integration architecture, patterns and standards.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, and ETL processes.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft tools including Visio, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure for deploying scalable data solutions.
- Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented; problem-solving abilities; critical thinking; adaptability.
- Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- CDMP certification is considered a strong asset.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64,000 and CA$85,000
