What you will do
The Sr Platform Specialist for Network Services provides advanced engineering expertise across the enterprise SD WAN and routing infrastructure. This role focuses on Juniper routing technologies and the Mist SD WAN platform supporting more than one thousand distributed retail and corporate sites. The specialist ensures reliable, secure, and efficient site connectivity through strong routing design, next generation SD WAN deployment, and operational excellence. This position also contributes to automation, observability, and value engineering initiatives within the Network Services organization.
Key Responsibilities
SD WAN and Routing Engineering
              • Design, deploy, and support SD WAN architectures using Juniper Mist including WAN edge devices, routing policies, overlays, and tunnel configurations.
              • Build and maintain routing designs using BGP, OSPF, and related protocols to support resilient and scalable connectivity.
              • Develop standardized templates, policies, and configuration models for retail, distribution, and corporate site deployments.
              • Support cloud interconnect and hybrid routing scenarios involving Azure and other cloud platforms.
Operations and Continuous Improvement
              • Troubleshoot complex routing and SD WAN issues including path selection, tunnel behavior, packet loss, performance anomalies, and latency.
              • Analyze routing tables, traffic flows, and telemetry to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.
              • Support transition from legacy WAN technologies to the Mist SD WAN platform.
              • Identify opportunities to simplify designs and reduce operational overhead while maintaining reliability.
Automation and Scripting
              • Develop Python scripts or similar automation tools to support provisioning, bulk configuration, routing validation, and drift detection.
              • Contribute to automated deployment pipelines and network as code practices for SD WAN and routing infrastructure.
              • Integrate Mist and Juniper APIs with IPAM, monitoring, and observability systems.
Collaboration and Alignment
              • Partner with Network Services, Network Platforms, and Cloud teams to ensure consistent routing and SD WAN policies across all environments.
              • Work with Security Engineering to ensure segmentation, firewall policies, and remote access paths align with routing designs.
              • Support business initiatives that require new site deployments, connectivity expansions, and network enhancements.
What you bring
              • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent experience is welcome.
              • Strong hands-on experience with Juniper routing platforms and the Mist SD WAN solution.
              • Deep understanding of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, ECMP, and related WAN technologies.
              • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex routing, SD WAN, and site connectivity issues.
              • Experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
              • Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Ansible or Terraform is preferred.
              • Understanding of carrier circuits, MPLS, broadband, LTE, and related underlay technologies.
              • Strong analytical and communication skills with a focus on operational excellence and efficient engineering.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64,000 and CA$106,000
