Job Title: Project Manager – IT IV

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 12 Months

Project Details:
• HR Support: Collaborate with HR business partners to implement and manage HR technologies, with a particular emphasis on Workday and ADP.
• Project Management: Lead and support HR-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
• Cross-Functional Support: Provide technological solutions and support to Finance and Risk Management teams, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
• Manage the entire project lifecycle from definition/scope through implementation.
• Develop project plans and drive milestones.
• Employ project management methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Identify, coordinate, and manage resources and key stakeholders.
• Ensure effective change management throughout the project.
• Manage communication plans, training, and documentation.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
• Communicate project status to all stakeholders regularly.

Environment:
• Global, Insurance, and Financial Services.
• Experience managing global projects from inception to deployment.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Team management and effective resource management skills.

Domain Knowledge:
• HR systems (Workday/ADP).
• SaaS tools.
• Development lifecycle delivery.
• Waterfall and Agile experience

Must have Skills:

Technical Skills:
• 10+ yrs. of experience in managing global projects from inception till deployment stage
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams; experience with API integrations; experience as an IT PM managing all technical deliverables.
• Sound knowledge of MS Office Tools and Agile tools, ex. JIRA
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• PMP and CSM designations.
• Experience delivering SaaS tools.
• Experience with HR systems (Workday/ADP).

Soft Skills:
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Effective project planning, judgment, and decision-making.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and provide status updates.
• Proactively identify risks and issues on projects – leading team to develop risk management and issues management plans
• Experience working in matrix organizations and with geographically dispersed teams.
• Ability to work independently and handle uncertainty.
• Prior experience of working in matrix organizations and multiple vendor resources is required.
• Monitors and manages project baseline to ensure activities are occurring as planned – scope, budget and schedule – manages variances
• Identifies potential points of contention for missed deliverables; creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget

Nice to have Skills:
– Experience in the delivery of HR systems (Workday/ADP) would be ideal.
– Running HR projects from a technical perspective

Education:
• Bachelor's degree
• Certifications: PMP and CSM designations.

Best vs. Average: An ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, but we are not solely looking for a technical expert. We need someone who has a high-level understanding of technology and expertise, combined with exceptional project management skills. This individual must be capable of bringing people together and effectively managing complex HR stakeholders.

The role requires someone who can bridge the gap between business and technology, understanding business requirements and translating them into actionable technical solutions. The candidate should be a great leader with excellent negotiation skills, capable of handling and managing stakeholders. They need to know what is required from a technical perspective while also building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the project progresses smoothly.

In summary, we are looking for a strong leader who can manage stakeholders, understand technical needs, and foster collaboration to drive projects forward successfully.

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$85.00
