Job Title: Electrical Process Engineer

Overview
Our client, a leader in space and robotics, is looking for a Senior Electrical Process and Systems Engineer to define how electrical engineering work is done and documented.
This role focuses on creating and improving processes, operating procedures, work instructions and technical documentation that support the electrical engineering lifecycle. You will work closely with electrical and systems engineering teams, and support program costing through standardized work packages and effort estimates.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Process and Systems

Develop and maintain processes for electrical design, analysis, integration, test and verification.

Create and manage process assets including operating procedures, work instructions, checklists, technical memos and templates.

Define document hierarchies, approval workflows and configuration control practices for electrical documentation.

Align electrical processes with systems, mechanical, software and controls workflows.
Technical Writing and Documentation Quality

Author and review technical documents such as requirements, specifications, test procedures, test reports, design descriptions and ICDs.

Ensure documentation is clear, technically accurate and compliant with internal and customer standards.

Maintain templates and guidelines for technical writing and coach engineers on documentation best practices.
Costing, Estimation and Standard Work

Define standard work packages for common electrical engineering activities.

Build and maintain effort and cost models using Excel and related tools.

Support bids by estimating labour based on standard processes and historical data.

Analyze actual effort versus estimates and recommend process improvements.
Continuous Improvement

Lead small working groups to map current workflows, identify gaps and design improved processes.

Track implementation of new procedures and documentation and support adoption through training and feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

8 to 10 years of experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment with strong exposure to electrical design, integration or test.

Proven experience developing engineering processes, procedures and work instructions.

Strong technical writing skills and experience producing high quality engineering documentation.

Proficient with Excel for building effort and cost models; familiarity with databases or basic UI tools is an asset.

Experience with document management or configuration control tools such as SharePoint or PLM.

Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead small process teams.

Experience in space, robotics, aerospace or other high reliability environments is an asset.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$65.00
