The successful candidate will bring a strong strategy and consulting mindset, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, risk management, and revenue generation through process optimization. The role will focus on front-to-back process re-engineering, including client onboarding, trading, post-trade operations, and regulatory controls such as KYC and AML.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead front-to-back business process re-engineering initiatives across Capital Markets, covering the full trading lifecycle (front office, middle office, and back office).
- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, assessing current-state processes and recommending future-state operating models aligned to business growth and profitability.
- Identify opportunities where process optimization, automation, and control enhancements can drive revenue growth, improve client experience, and reduce cost and operational risk.
- Analyze and redesign processes related to client onboarding, KYC, AML, trade execution, confirmations, settlements, collateral management, and lifecycle events.
- Partner closely with Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure redesigned processes meet regulatory and internal control requirements.
- Develop and manage program roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with front office, operations, technology, and compliance stakeholders to drive alignment and decision-making.
- Translate business strategy into actionable process improvements and implementation plans.
- Support change management, including stakeholder communications, training, and adoption planning.
- Track and report on program progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in program management, business process re-engineering, or management consulting within Capital Markets or financial services.
- Strong understanding of the full trading lifecycle, from front office through post-trade and settlement.
- Hands-on experience with KYC and AML frameworks, including client onboarding and regulatory controls within a banking environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a consultative, strategy-focused role, influencing senior stakeholders and driving change.
- Proven experience identifying and delivering process improvements that generate measurable business value (revenue growth, cost reduction, efficiency gains).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a Canadian bank or large global financial institution.
- Familiarity with Capital Markets products (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX).
- Experience with process automation, workflow tools, or operational transformation initiatives.
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or similar process improvement certification.
- PMP or equivalent program management certification is an asset.
Key Competencies
- Strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset.
- Ability to view process re-engineering as a business growth and revenue-enabling opportunity, not just cost optimization.
- Strong leadership and influence skills in complex, matrixed environments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated Capital Markets setting.
