Business Specialist, Cyber Advisory
Our client is seeking a Business Specialist to support the execution of their cyber vision and strategy, providing technical and business advice, support and services to all Client divisions, agencies and corporations.
The successful candidate will own the development and execution of the cyber awareness and training program and all associated campaigns and programs that may spin off from them.
They will define, develop and support cyber awareness and training programs and initiatives, engaging with teams across the organization to build alignment on key projects and develop execution roadmaps.
Assignment Duties
Policy:
• Research and analyze emerging cybersecurity regulations, standards, and best practices to inform organizational policies
• Draft, review, and update cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, legal, compliance, and operations to ensure policies are practical and enforceable
• Translate technical cybersecurity requirements into clear, actionable policy language for non-technical audiences
• Monitor policy implementation and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Cyber Compliance
• Conduct cybersecurity compliance assessments of Client’s, Agencies & Corporations, Divisions and Arena’s
• Participate in regular cybersecurity compliance review to assess and improve the Client’s cyber security posture.
• Contribute to the development of Cyber Compliance Program, IT & OT methodologies, and processes for improving security assessments.
• Assess IT and OT systems, networks, and applications to identify potential vulnerabilities, risks, and areas of improvement.
• Evaluate security frameworks, policies, and controls against industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISA-62443, etc).
Experience and Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA
2. 5+ years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in large, complex projects.
3. 5+ years demonstrated experience in developing various Business Requirement Documents.
4. 5+ years demonstrated experience in developing Functional Specifications and Use Cases.
5. Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
6. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
7. Extensive experience in creating workflows
8. Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
9. Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders.
10. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
11. Excellent written & verbal communication/presentation skills. Comfortable & confident communicating at all levels including business partners, leadership and vendors.
12. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
13. Agile or Scrum certification is a plus.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$85.00
