Job Title: Sr. PowerBI Developer

Location: Toronto or London, ON (Hybrid)

What you will bring:

• A University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience as a BI Developer
• Ability to write stored procedures, views, and SQL functions.
• Understand how to use query plans for performance optimization.
• Experience with Microsoft Tools for big data: Power BI, Power Platform, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Azure
• Working knowledge of Databricks or Azure Synapse
• Knowledge of Power BI security standard methodologies, including role-based access control (RBAC) and row-level security (RLS)
• Customer focus and strong relationship management skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and working within ambiguous situations.
• Effective time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills

 
Role profile description:
Our Canada Data team is looking for a strong Senior BI Developer to join our team. 
 
The Senior BI Developer Role, part of the Canada Data Business Intelligence team, will apply their strong technical skills and problem-solving ability to develop reports, and oversees aspects of the lifecycle from design choices to technical best practices. You will use your expertise to collect, extract, manipulate and present data in both traditional and modern reporting methods with a focus on process improvement and data architecture.
 
What you will do:

• Design, build and deploy BI solutions with multiple data source connectors including Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services and SQL Server .
• Takes technical responsibility over enterprise BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Coordinates holistic development solutions that can be used and/or re-used across development teams and projects.
• Setup, Build and create deployment pipelines using Devops CI/CD best practices for Power Platform deployments.
• Configure and maintain workspaces, environment security, on-premise data gateway and data loss prevention policies within the Power Platform.
• Create relationships, calculated columns, and measures to ensure optimal performance and usability of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Maintain and develop new approaches to automate internal and external data retrieval, client reporting and operational process. Interface with cross-functional teams to build centralized/custom data analytics tools to enhance the business process.
• Own and develop queries and data visualizations for ad-hoc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects. Create exploratory data analysis, reports, dashboards to surface data for different stakeholders.
