Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager – Promotional Programs, the Consultant – Promo Programs position at Mark’s & Sport Chek focuses on driving performance and operational excellence through strategic promotional activations, including the VIP program. The position involves collaboration across teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and the adoption of new technologies and processes for efficiency. responsible for driving performance and operational excellence through the VIP and other high-impact promotional activations. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, technical acumen, and an understanding of promotional strategies. The consultant will work closely with the Manager of Promotional Programs to deliver on key promotional programs, including engaging with strategic external & internal partners. Will also foster and lead a culture of change and adoption of new technology/system-based tools and establishment of new processes for greater efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotional Program Planning:
- Support multi-year promo program strategy development from end-to-end.
- Where applicable, provide input and support into annual planning processes for Western banner Promotions.
- Engage with stakeholders to develop strategic insights and translate them into actionable plans.
- Partner with cross functional teams to ensure alignment on promotional program priorities and goals.
- Support document builds for strategic planning meetings such as Seasonal Planning, Integrated Planning & other weekly Business Meetings.
- Support and deliver detailed Event & Quarterly Post-Mortems and present findings to key stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing future promotional activations based on customer & data findings.
- Promotional Program Integration:
- Work closely with cross functional teams such as Marketing, Purchasing & Store Operations to deliver on strategic promotional programs.
- Ensure all promotions are accurately implemented and aligned with business objectives.
- Deliver on key execution elements for the VIP and other strategic promotional programs such as offer code generation and financial forecasting
- Manage the end-to-end process of obtaining & communicating product exclusion lists (monthly & event based).
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure accurate legal disclaimers.
- Support post-event analysis for continuous program optimization.
- Operational Excellence – Program and Process Optimization:
- Evaluate existing processes and systems, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continued adoption of AI and new technologies to deliver greater efficiency
- Collaborate with various teams to break down silos and drive cross-functional synergy toward outcomes.
- Balance prioritization and trade-off requirements.
- People & Culture:
- When required, support AVP of Pricing & Promotions with team engagement programs and practices such as townhalls, cross banner team meetings/events, regular communication.
- Maintain a curious mindset to understand where the best possible outcome lies.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$53,000 and CA$88,000
