Job Description
The Senior Digital Product Owner at Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS) will report to the Manager, Digital Products. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to develop and execute customer experience strategies for digital onboarding and servicing of financial products and services. You will own a portfolio of fraud related and systems driven initiatives, ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable solutions that strengthen our end to end fraud management ecosystem. Within this role, the Sr. Digital Product Owner will work closely with various departments across the organization as well as Canadian Tire Retail. The ideal candidate has extensive project-based and digital or mobile development experience, excels in creative thinking/problem solving and execution, is a self-starter who possesses strong organization and teamwork capabilities. They should have a commitment to developing robust digital strategies and detailed roadmap to enable future success.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Accountable for the Product backlog, define, create and prioritize backlog items (epics/features/user stories) and proactively address issues.
  • Drive the product roadmap for fraud detection, prevention, and investigation capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
  • Partner with technology teams to design, enhance, and modernize fraud related systems, including rules engines, machine learning models, case management tools, and real-time decisioning platforms.
  • Clearly communicate the product vision and communicate ‘the story’ effectively to key stakeholders
  • Research competitive landscape to identify new solutions or improve existing customer experiences.
  • Incorporate Accessibility requirements into user stories, conduct pre-launch and ongoing assessments to ensure web content adheres to mandated standards
  • Clearly communicate issues, ideas and concepts (verbally and written) between business and technical parties.
  • Work creatively with stakeholders to address areas of concern without diminishing the user experience
  • Manage approvals required to deliver projects including Compliance, Legal, Operations and Customer Service
  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations, Business Stakeholders and IT Partners to ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Investigate customer issues/points of friction, propose and gain alignment for solution, oversee remediation plan
  • Oversee all projects through to deployment
  • Track NPS, monitor CTB digital performance and benchmark against competitors to identify strengths and opportunities
  • Provide team with updates on digital landscape and new opportunities

What you bring

  • University graduate, degree in technology, business or marketing preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner/Manager
  • Product management experience in the credit card industry, specializing in fraud, risk, payments, or financial technology environments is preferred
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset particularly in fraud detection, prevention, investigations or risk management
  • Knowledge of financial systems including TSYS, FICO, Pega is an asset
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery principles and proficiency in Jira and Confluence
  • Exposure to machine learning models, rules engines, and real-time decisioning platforms is an asset
  • An understanding of web/mobile technologies is an asset
  • A drive for continuous learning, and developing innovative user experiences
  • Experience working with wireframes and a strong understanding of customer journey and UX
  • Collaborative team player with superior influencing skills, who builds relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward
  • Highly organized and action oriented. You can recognize and keep track of all the moving pieces, adjusting to new information, goals and conflicting priorities.
  • An excellent communicator, with the ability to engage, influence, inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Ability to think and problem solve creatively to address business challenges
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize accountabilities to meet business objectives
  • Ability to work on complex projects with a diverse team of people

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$55.00 and CA$80.00
