Senior Specialist Cyber Service Lead

Salary: $123,833.00 – $170,184.00
Shift Information: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week per week

What will you do?

  • Promote engagement and awareness by establishing relationships with stakeholders and partners upholding the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and accountability in order to maintain trust and confidence of the team and the extended divisions, corporations and agencies we serve.
  • Serve as the single point of contact from Clients, as well as a portfolio of clients; building strong relationships and managing client expectations and escalations.
  • Manage cyber intake requests for client portfolios, gather information and coordinate with other areas in the organization, communicate risks to the client and follow up to ensure remediation plans are developed.
  • Collaborate across all segments of the organization to ensure policies and standards are followed.
  • Develop and implement detailed plans and recommend cyber security policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements. Support service management process enhancements. Take a proactive approach to identify gaps and opportunities to improvement.
  • Supervise, motivate and train assigned project staff and contract resources, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning and encourage innovation in others.
  • Serve as the internal/external point of contact and subject matter expert in their respective function.
  • Perform oversight/coordination of cyber risk management with clients; escalate significant cyber risk matters to senior management when required.
  • Deal with confidential information affecting the organization and its resources. Prepare and present reports to management.
  • Work with senior management within the division to address active internal/external cyber threats. Attend senior management meetings, make recommendations to mitigate the threats, and take appropriate urgent action as needed.
  • Provide a confidential assessment of organizational issues and make recommendations for next steps, including policy, procedural and structural change.
  • Take a proactive approach to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement to mitigate risk.
  • Organize and work with multidisciplinary business and technical teams from across the organization to formulate and execute project plans and tasks according to established project management principles and methodologies.
  • Provides oversight and monitors cyber risk activities performed by project teams. Reviews and supports the implementation of processes and controls by various teams as outlined in the information risk policy and related operating directives, standards and procedures.
  • Provides project coordination and management support, and ensure comprehensive and effective information communication across various functional and project teams.
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders, clients, project managers, and team members regarding any business and technical decisions and actions that may impact solution delivery, staff performance, business processes, management workflow and technical support of public services.
  • Provide support in the design, implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Plan, prioritize and coordinate internal and/or external assigned project resources to meet project objectives.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of key risk metrics and associated measurements in alignment with the cyber risk appetite.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Establish relationships with strategic partners, collaborating on the advancement of cyber programs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of cyber security, emerging threats, trends, and associated techniques and technologies as well as key business drivers and opportunities.

What you bring to the role:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Technology or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management and client relations.
  • Extensive experience in Information Security and program delivery.
  • Extensive project management experience in deploying security-related initiatives.
  • Experience working in transformative programs.
  • Experience leading a team (internal or external resources) with strong interpersonal skills to work independently and collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Preferred Certifications (any in the list): CISSP, CISM or CISA
  • Strong IT knowledge and cyber relevance with cyber threats, trends and technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of effective security practices and training requirements when working in large, complex environments.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels including leadership, business partners, project stakeholders, divisional teams and vendors).
  • Creative, critical, analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to problem, solve and identify solutions to unusual and complex problems.
  • Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage competing priorities, projects and initiatives while adhering to strict deadlines within a fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, self-motivated team player who takes initiative and is able to work independently.
  •  Self-motivated with desire to go above and beyond required tasks and ability to work extremely well under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Transferable skills, including communication and decision-making, are equally important. Being able to think on your feet and show good judgment are especially valuable in this field. Professionals in cyber security must be able to react quicky and strategically to cyber-related incidents.

A Qualified List of candidates will be established for the Senior Specialist Cyber Service Lead position and will be in effect for 24 months from the date the list is created. Qualified candidates on the list may be considered when filling future permanent and/or temporary vacancies in this position.

  • A normal work week is 35 hours, however, unforeseen situation may require extended hours of work with little or no prior notice. In case of a cyber incident or breach, rotation shift, continuous extended hours may be required with little or no prior notice.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$123,833 and CA$170,184
