Job Summary:
The Procurement Lead will manage procurement for assigned projects, ensuring the cost-effective and timely sourcing of key equipment and materials for natural gas pipelines and facilities construction. This role oversees sourcing activities, supplier evaluations and negotiations, purchase order management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support project execution. The Procurement Lead also identifies strategic supply chain opportunities, drives cost optimization, and maintains supplier relationships to support business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement and material sourcing activities for projects of varying complexity.

  • Develop, issue, and manage sourcing documents including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.

  • Conduct bid evaluations, spreadsheet analyses, and commercial assessments of supplier proposals.

  • Coordinate proposal evaluations with project stakeholders and support supplier negotiations.

  • Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all purchase orders within assigned categories or projects.

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers of pipeline materials such as pipe, valves, and fittings.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, legal, risk, supplier qualification, and project management teams.

  • Ensure compliance with purchase order terms and conditions in all supplier interactions.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records in SAP and review technical specifications and BOMs.

  • Identify and implement cost savings, process improvements, and efficiencies.

  • Resolve complex procurement issues affecting operations or project timelines.

  • Analyze market conditions, supplier performance, and cost drivers to provide recommendations to leadership.

  • Proactively identify future supply chain needs based on business requirements and data analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized four-year university.

  • Professional certification or designation in Supply Chain Management.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ procurement experience purchasing natural gas equipment, such as pipeline materials, valves, fittings, or engineered equipment.

  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.

  • Technical and commercial experience purchasing materials/services for midstream natural gas operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and remotely.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and deliver measurable results.

  • Experience conducting sourcing events (RFPs) for pipeline or facilities construction projects in the natural gas industry.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $30.00 and $40.00
