Senior GIS Analyst – Real Estate Decision Support:
 
The Real Estate and GIS Decision Support team supports the decision-making process across CTC by providing geospatial data, analytics, insights, and GIS expertise. 
 
The team is looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to support the Real Estate group by providing sales forecasts, cannibalization estimates, long-term market plans, and demographic analysis to support the capital investment decision-making process.  Reporting to the Manager of the Real Estate and GIS Decision Support team, the Senior GIS Analyst will provide support to regional development teams as required, while also working collaboratively with other members of the team to develop new tools in support of the above functions.

What You Will Do:
 

  • Develop market and location analyses which include detailed sales forecasts, cannibalization estimates, competitor analysis, and demographic analysis
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex market analysis, such as long-term real estate strategies by incorporating current and future store performance, long-term demographic and macro-economic forecasts, future residential development, and changes to the physical retail landscape
  • Review forecasts with the team and applies critical judgment by challenging assumptions, inputs, and outputs and proactively provides insights and recommendations
  • Assess historical project performance vs. plan and post-audit previous analysis to uncover opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency; proactively recommend implantation approaches
  • Prepare content and visuals to explain sales forecasts and related analysis for monthly Real Estate meeting cycles
  • Champion the implementation of new geospatial datasets, products, and tools to scale insights and improve decision-making.
  • Present reports and analysis to the Manager, RE & GIS Decision Support; AVP, Retail & Real Estate Decision Support; and various stakeholders around the organization
 

What You Bring:
 

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in geographic information systems, geography, or a closely related field that required equivalent coursework in geographic information systems
  • 4+ years’ experience providing sales forecasts, cannibalization estimates, market plans/network strategies, or customer analytics for a major retailer or consultancy group
  • Experience providing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to junior analysts
  • Experience with Esri’s suite of GIS products, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Online, Desktop, and mobile GIS; along with the ability to produce informative maps that follow cartographic standards
  • Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets
  • Working knowledge of Knime, PowerBI, automation with Python, and Azure Synapse considered an asset

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64,000 and CA$90,000
