Job Description: Learning & Content Development Specialist
Responsibilities

  • Training Needs Analysis – Partner with leaders, HR, and subject matter experts to assess learning gaps and business requirements; conduct skills analyses, surveys, focus groups, and data reviews to identify priority development needs.
  • Instructional Design & Content Development – Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) to design and develop engaging, high-quality training materials. Deliverables may include eLearning modules, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, FAQs, SOPs, microlearning, videos, job aids, and digital resources. Ensure all content aligns with brand, accessibility, compliance, and knowledge management standards.
  • Content Management – Develop, maintain, and organize training content and procedure documents in centralized repositories (e.g., LMS, SharePoint, intranet). Establish content governance standards to ensure accuracy, version control, and ease of access for learners and stakeholders.
  • Learning Project Management – Lead the planning, execution, and tracking of learning projects; create project plans, manage timelines and budgets, monitor progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Learning Technology & Platforms – Upload, test, and track learning content in the LMS (Workday preferred) or other digital platforms. Troubleshoot issues, ensure SCORM/xAPI compatibility, and optimize learner experience.
  • Program Facilitation & Delivery Support – Support the delivery of virtual or in-person learning sessions; facilitate workshops, train-the-trainer sessions, or webinars as needed. Provide logistical and production support for large-scale training initiatives.
  • Measurement & Evaluation – Develop assessments, surveys, and feedback loops to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions. Analyze results to recommend improvements, and report on impact and ROI.
  • Change Management & Communication – Draft learner communications, marketing materials, FAQs, and change management plans to ensure adoption, engagement, and clarity of processes.
  • Continuous Improvement – Research and recommend new learning technologies, tools, and best practices to keep learning solutions modern, scalable, and impactful.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, content development, and learning project management, ideally in a corporate or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning principles, ADDIE/SAM, blended learning design, and training content lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Captivate, etc.), multimedia content creation, and Learning Management Systems (Workday preferred).
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, editing, visual design, and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly materials.
  • Certification in instructional design, project management (PMP), or learning technologies (nice to have).

Location:  Mississauga – Hybrid (3 days in the office)
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$55.00 and CA$70.00
