Job Description
The Planner II, Master Scheduling supports multiple shipbuilding programs and future initiatives, within the IMS Planning organization. The role provides advanced planning support to the Planning Lead and Team Supervisor across key program phases, including Engineering & Design, Procurement, Build, and Test & Trials, with increased responsibility for cross project coordination and analytical depth.

In addition to developing and maintaining integrated, resource loaded master schedules to a high standard of quality and integrity, the Planner II provides structured support to Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) activities. This includes collaboration with individual project teams and relevant external stakeholders to develop, validate, and refine schedule assumptions, risk inputs, and analytical outputs, under the guidance of the Team Supervisor. The role supports risk informed program insight without assuming ownership of governance or approvals.

Duties/Accountabilities
 

  • Utilize Primavera P6 to develop and maintain Level 2, 3, and 4 schedules across multiple projects and interfaces, supporting integrated planning, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 and Level 4 schedules for phases including Engineering, Procurement, and Build, managing more complex logic, assumptions, and interdependencies.
  • Support Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) activities by working with project teams and external stakeholders to:
    • Gather and validate schedule risk inputs
    • Review assumptions and logic quality
    • Support the development and interpretation of risk adjusted schedule outputs
  • Apply judgment in balancing uncertainty, constraints, and trade offs to support risk informed schedule analyses and scenario discussions.
  • Develop and maintain integrated resource profiles in Primavera P6 to support capacity assessment and planning across programs.
  • Support and maintain effective schedule data interfaces between Primavera P6 and MRP/ERP systems, ensuring consistency and analytical readiness.
  • Prepare and distribute advanced schedule analyses, reports, and forecasts, including cross project and risk informed views.
  • Provide advanced planning and scheduling insights to support the Team Supervisor and senior leadership in program decision making.
  • Maintain and enhance assigned portions of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to support EVMS, resource planning, automated metrics, and risk informed reporting.

 Education and Experience 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of planning and scheduling experience in a large manufacturing environment, preferably shipbuilding.
  • Certification in Planning, Production Control, Project Management, or Risk Analysis is highly desirable.

 Skills, Knowledge, and Required Competencies 
 

  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding operations and cross functional interdependencies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including complex logic development and schedule integration.
  • Experience supporting Schedule Risk Analysis or probabilistic schedule assessments is an asset.
  • Experience with Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) or similar probabilistic schedule risk analysis tools is considered an asset.
  • Solid working knowledge of EVMS and schedule driven performance management.
  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to interpret complex schedule data and communicate insights.
  • High level of collaboration and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Ability to work with moderate autonomy while serving as a trusted contributor to the IMS Planning organization.

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$38.00 and CA$44.00
