Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: Fulltime
We are currently hiring Field Service Technicians to join a growing team within the material handling and industrial equipment industry. This organization is a recognized leader in equipment servicing and maintenance solutions, supporting customers across multiple locations throughout Ontario and Quebec.
Ideal candidates will come from an automotive, heavy equipment, truck and coach, forklift, or industrial equipment maintenance background. Candidates currently enrolled in motive power or related mechanical programs may also be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who are self-motivated, customer-focused, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for traveling to customer sites to diagnose, service, troubleshoot, and repair lift trucks and other material handling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and operational repairs
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Discuss recommended repairs and service requirements with customers
- Estimate repair timelines and support parts ordering processes
- Complete required service documentation and reporting
- Conduct safety and operational testing
- Perform equipment inspections, installations, and setup as required
- Communicate customer feedback, concerns, and sales/service leads internally
- Participate in ongoing technical and safety training
- Support additional service and maintenance activities as assigned
Physical Requirements
Candidates should be comfortable with the physical demands associated with equipment servicing, including:
- Operating service vehicles and industrial equipment safely
- Standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching, and lifting regularly
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs regularly
- Occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs
- Working with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic equipment
- Climbing ladders and stairs as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Industry-related training and/or prior mechanical experience preferred
- Background in automotive, heavy equipment, forklift, truck and coach, or industrial maintenance environments considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical diagnostic tools/equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a field service environment

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60,000 and CA$75,000
