Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of highly available, resilient, and scalable enterprise network infrastructures. This includes deep expertise in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), converged communications (voice, wireless), IoT ecosystems, and advanced routing technologies such as multicast operating across modern Cisco-based platforms.

Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Architect and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant network infrastructures using SDN principles.
  • Design converged architectures supporting data, voice, wireless, IoT, and multicast traffic.
  • Develop resilient topologies including multi-site, active-active, spine-leaf, and SD-WAN.
  • Implement QoS and traffic engineering strategies for latency-sensitive and real-time communications.

Software-Defined & High Availability Networking

  • Design and deploy SDN and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Implement high-availability strategies including BGP, OSPF, fast failover, and geo-resiliency.
  • Drive modernization toward intent-based and automated networking.
  • Integrate observability and telemetry across data, voice, and IoT traffic flows.

Wireless Communications & Connectivity

  • Design and implement private LTE/5G, DAS, Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, and wireless backhaul.
  • Support high-density environments requiring seamless mobility.
  • Ensure wireless networks support IoT and voice services such as VoWiFi.

Voice & Telephony as Part of the Network

  • Design voice and telephony systems as integrated components of the network.
  • Implement VoIP technologies (SIP, RTP, SBCs) with proper QoS.
  • Integrate unified communications platforms across WAN, LAN, and wireless.
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end voice quality issues across all network layers.

IoT & Device Connectivity

  • Design and support network architectures for large-scale IoT device onboarding and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure scalable segmentation and policy enforcement using NAC and identity-based controls.
  • Optimize network performance for high device density and diverse traffic patterns.
  • Integrate IoT traffic into SDN, QoS, and telemetry frameworks.

Multicast & Real-Time Traffic Engineering

  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot IP multicast architectures for real-time data distribution.
  • Implement protocols such as PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, IGMP, and MSDP where required.
  • Optimize multicast for applications such as video streaming, telemetry distribution, and real-time event systems.
  • Ensure multicast operates efficiently across WAN, data center, and campus environments.
  • Integrate multicast into QoS and high-availability design patterns.

Cisco Platform Expertise

  • Deep hands-on experience with modern Cisco networking platforms including Catalyst, Nexus, and SD-WAN (Viptela).
  • Experience with Cisco ACI, DNA Center, and intent-based networking solutions.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Cisco IOS-XE, NX-OS, and controller-based architectures.
  • Ability to implement advanced features including multicast, QoS, segmentation (VXLAN/EVPN), and automation on Cisco platforms.

Operations & Reliability

  • Provide expert troubleshooting across converged network, voice, multicast, and IoT environments.
  • Ensure SLA adherence and operational excellence.
  • Maintain architecture documentation and standards.

Design Scenarios

Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience designing and implementing:

  • Large-scale campus SDN (SDA/ACI) supporting voice, Wi-Fi, IoT
  • Active-active SD-WAN with multi-region resiliency
  • Multicast architecture for real-time video/telemetry
  • End-to-end QoS for voice (Teams/CUCM) across LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi
  • Private LTE/5G or DAS integrated with enterprise network
  • IoT segmentation using NAC, microsegmentation
  • Sub-second failover for mission-critical services
  • Full observability/telemetry integration

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Serve as a technical leader across infrastructure and communications domains.
  • Drive roadmap planning and vendor engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of network engineering experience.
  • Expertise in high-availability and SDN architectures.
  • Strong experience with multicast routing (PIM, IGMP) in enterprise networks.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise and data center platforms.
  • Strong understanding of QoS, convergence, and performance optimization for voice and IoT.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with private LTE/5G and DAS.
  • Experience with Cisco ACI or SDA (Software-Defined Access).
  • Experience with IoT platforms or device onboarding frameworks.
  • Experience with unified communications and cloud telephony.

Certifications

  • CCNP / CCIE Enterprise or Collaboration
  • Cisco SD-WAN Specialist
  • Cisco Data Center (ACI) or DevNet certifications
  • CWNA / CWNP
  • Private LTE / 5G certifications
