Maintenance Scheduler (Outage)

About the Role
A major nuclear energy client in Bruce County is seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to backfill a key position within their Resource Supply and Validation team during a high-volume outage period. This is a procedure and reporting-driven role supporting a busy maintenance organization through a critical operational period. You will work on-site as part of a team of specialists managing training compliance, rostering, and scheduling for a large unionized trades workforce.
What You'll Be Doing
- Generate and analyze reports on processes, procedures and training requirements associated with administration and maintenance of the Maintenance trade
- Coordinate and schedule Maintenance staff initial, continuing, refresher and re-qualification training to meet individual and station requirements. Coordinate the licensing training to ensure Authorized staff meet licensing commitments for attendance at re-qualification training
- Maintain administrative training reports for Maintenance staff. Administer or recommend training revisions to training capability profiles and training needs to support the maintenance of training qualifications for Maintenance personnel
- Act as the lead in monitoring, researching and obtaining background information concerning application of division processes and collective agreement issues in defined areas such as but not limited to Vacation treatments, Hours of Work violations and Lack of Notice applicability
- Advise regarding the administration of the collective agreement as it pertains to Maintenance staff. Deal with problems arising on a day-to-day basis
- Liaise with HR and Training on employees' behalf when required
What You Bring
- Experience in a maintenance scheduling, training coordination, or workforce administration role
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with reporting tools such as Power BI
- Familiarity with qualification and training tracking systems in an industrial or regulated environment
- Ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented work in a fast-paced setting
- Comfort working on-site full-time, including during outage periods
- Post-secondary education (2 year diploma or degree preferred, administrative or related discipline)
Nice to Have
- Experience with TIMS (Training Information Management System) version 2 or 3
- Knowledge of PWU collective agreement requirements including hours of work, bank time, and shift swap processes
- Prior experience working at a nuclear generating station or similarly regulated industrial site
- Background supporting outage workforce management or large-scale Appendix A onboarding
Education and Experience:
- Completion of grade XII plus 2 years (note our full-time positions request 3yrs)
- A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
- Requires experience with scheduling and monitoring maintenance training programs
- Knowledge of PWU Collective Agreement would be an asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$60.00
