Job Title: Guidewire Integration Developer
Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
As a Guidewire Integration Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of Integration solutions within our organization and with third party applications. You will play a pivotal role in driving our cloud transformation agenda, ensuring that we use Guidewire Cloud capabilities to improve our integration workflows.
The role involves working with the Senior Manager – Software Engineering.
What you’ll do
- Build architectural diagrams / design documents.
- Write programs, configure / package / deploy software.
- Perform peer code reviews.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Design and implement integrations with external systems.
- Ensure standard methodologies are followed in code development, testing, and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage the technical aspects of Guidewire upgrades and patches.
- Resolve and address complex technical issues promptly.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance functionality.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related fields, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years proven experience in Guidewire Integration Development
- Expertise in GOSU Language, configuration and coding using Guidewire tools and accelerators, Guidewire Batch, and Guidewire predefined plugins.
- Read code in other languages and reverse engineer products.
- Agile software development, including the use of Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Domain knowledge on Property & Casualty Insurance
- 5+ years of Guidewire development experience.
- 5+ years of experience coding RESTful APIs.
- 5+ years of experience with coding in multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, etc.
- Expertise in the end-to-end design and development of business database applications.
- Experience building modern web applications and designing Web APIs with REST/JSON.
- In-depth understanding of design thinking and customer-centric development.
Must have:
- Guidewire Associate Certification.
- Guidewire Integration and Policy Center experience.
- Experience working on Guidewire Cloud (preferably Las Lenas).
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire Cloud APIs for extending and integrating with Insurance Suite in the cloud. Familiarity with synchronous and asynchronous API calls, authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0), pagination, error handling, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Integration Gateway. Proficiency in designing, developing, and managing Guidewire Integration Gateway to enable secure, scalable, and event-driven integrations.
- Experience with App Events and Event Driven Architecture. In-depth knowledge of Guidewire Cloud App Events and Pub/Sub models, including event creation, consumptions, and mapping to downstream systems.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Tools: TeamCity, Bitbucket, DataDog, Guidewire Home.
- Understanding Guidewire Messaging Engine: Message Queues, Message Transports, Plugins. Nice to have:
- Guidewire Ace Certification (preferably Integration).
- Guidewire Billing Center Configuration Knowledge.
- Experience writing automated GUnit tests for integrations using Guidewire data builders.
- Experience upgrading Guidewire Cloud versions.
- Experience handling Guidewire Cloud Assurance Reports and leading the resolution.
- 5+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL – MS SQL Server & Transact SQL proficiency preferred.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$82.00 and CA$92.00
