Job Type: Contract (Full-Time)
Location: Quintana, TX (Onsite)
Duration: Approximately 12 Months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Travel: Less than 10%
Requirements: Valid TWIC Card and current driver's license required

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Process Engineer to provide technical support for the operation, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of an LNG facility. This role will support process surveillance, performance analysis, process safety initiatives, and capital improvement projects while working closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in LNG, gas treatment, or gas liquefaction processes and a strong background in process safety management, troubleshooting, and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate plant performance, process trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze operating data and identify opportunities to improve production, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Investigate process upsets, equipment issues, and operational challenges, providing technical solutions and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain process simulations to support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Recommend improvements to process systems, operating practices, and control strategies.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and ongoing operation of LNG process units.
  • Lead and support Management of Change (MOC) activities for facility modifications and capital projects.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other process safety studies.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop process monitoring tools and performance metrics.
  • Prepare preliminary scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules for facility upgrades and capital projects.
  • Support audits, assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, commercial, and regulatory teams to provide technical expertise and process guidance.
  • Conduct technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions for plant personnel as needed.
  • Lead debottlenecking studies and identify opportunities to maximize plant utilization and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of Process Engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in gas treatment, LNG, or gas liquefaction processes.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting an operating industrial facility.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of LNG and gas processing operations.
  • Experience with process simulations and process modeling software.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Management of Change (MOC), HAZOP, PHA, and LOPA methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives, material and energy balances, and process calculations.
  • Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, specifications, and design practices.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $70.00 and $78.00
