Our client is seeking an Electrical Control Systems Designer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, technically strong individual to contribute to the design, development, and commissioning of custom automation systems for marine and industrial applications. You will play a key role in delivering high-impact projects while gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.
 
Your Role:
-Design electrical control systems for marine and industrial applications from concept through commissioning
-Develop, test, and commission PLC and HMI software
-Translate customer requirements and technical specifications into detailed designs and documentation
-Collaborate with customers, engineers, vendors, and internal teams
-Support installation, start-up, and troubleshooting activities in both shop and field environments
-Contribute to project planning, estimating, and product selection
-Assist with system integration, panel fabrication, and testing activities
-Participate in continuous improvement and new technology implementation
 
Qualifications and Experience:
-Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering Diploma or equivalent
-1-3 years of experience in electrical control systems design and industrial automation, including PLC and HMI programming

-1-3 years of hands-on experience with system integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting
-Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams
-Ability to analyze and interpret technical specifications and produce clear documentation
-Proficient with AutoCAD (2D and 3D)
-Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, industrial networks, and instrumentation

 
Experience That Will Put You Ahead:
  • Experience with 3D design and modeling
  • Exposure to marine and/or industrial processes
  • Experience supporting on-site start-up and commissioning

 
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50,000 and CA$70,000
