Job Title: Appian Developer

Location: Winnipeg, Toronto or London (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 5 Months

Any specific tools/skillset: 

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or computer science, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with typically 1–3 years of experience in Appian Platform software development or application support.
  • Appian Work flow, IDP and RPA skills
  • Foundational experience supporting production systems, including exposure to incident management (L1/L2), basic root cause analysis, and system operations.
  • Working knowledge of Appian, including supporting low-code applications, and familiarity with Appian RPA and IDP (Intelligent Document Processing) concepts in production environments.
  • Basic understanding of logical data modelling and exposure to integrations between SAP systems and third-party or legacy applications.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage assigned support tasks, incidents, and defects with guidance from senior team members.
  • Developing skills in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing fixes under supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and apply support processes, troubleshooting techniques, and operational best practices.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and business teams and clearly communicate issues and updates.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on learning, system stability, and continuous improvement.
  • Exposure to financial services or regulated environments is an asset. Familiarity with Agile practices in a support context and working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and ServiceNow is desirable.
  • Appian certification (e.g., Associate Developer) or willingness to obtain certification is considered an asset.

 
Role profile description: 

  • Supports stability and reliability of production systems by assisting with fixes, participating in root cause analysis, and validating resolutions under guidance.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving production issues (L1/L2), escalating complex problems as needed to ensure timely resolution within SLAs.
  • Monitors applications and alerts, identifies basic anomalies, and supports implementation of preventive measures.
  • Contributes to problem management by documenting recurring issues and assisting in root cause analysis and fixes.
  • Supports system performance and stability by implementing minor enhancements and fixes under supervision.
  • Assists with change and release activities to ensure smooth and low-risk deployments.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support issue resolution and maintain service continuity.
  • Maintains and updates runbooks, documentation, and knowledge articles to support operational efficiency.
  • Supports automation initiatives by assisting in identifying repetitive tasks and developing simple scripts or solutions.
  • Learns and applies support best practices, adheres to security and governance standards, and provides updates on assigned tasks and issues to senior team members.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$53.00
