Job Description:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements and projects.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and ad hoc meetings with business stakeholders.
  • Apply problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills to facilitate end to end requirements gathering.
  • Document business benefits and validate with Business Sponsor.
  • Establish good relationships and maintain effective communication with client TIS partners as well as supporting process teams.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and developers, stepping in where needed to clarify, communicate, and provide support.
  • Take ownership of assigned duties and successfully execute on all tasks while balancing multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Develop and send communication to business stakeholders advising them of the impacts of system improvements.
  • Participate in design sessions to ensure proposed solution meets requirements and document solution approval as needed.
  • Partner with enterprise functional and technical teams to prepare for user acceptance testing. Develop test scripts and prepare test data.
  • Conduct regression testing for GDS Systems (for GDS & Enterprise changes) as needed.
  • Validate outcome of solution after implementation into production.
  • Confirm with Business Sponsor that change benefits have been realized.
  • Augment system enhancement and implementation projects as needed.

Job Description/Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the Utility Integration Business Applications team. This person will focus on planning and executing integration activities for business systems and processes. It involves migrating new utilities from their current systems, working closely with the utilities and other program workstream teams to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and collaborate with the technical team to develop functional designs that meet business requirements.

This also involves assisting in test planning, documenting test scripts, the execution of testing, supporting user training and implementation and will help ensure the businesses voice is well represented during all phases of the integration project, business impacts are well understood, and subject matter expert’s (SME) voices are represented during decision making.

  • Work closely with the utilities and business applications teams to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to develop functional designs that meet business requirements.
  • Help ensure the businesses voice is well represented during all phases of the integration project, business impacts are well understood, and SME voices are represented during decision making.
  • Partner with functional and technical teams to develop test plans, write detailed test cases and execute test scripts for both System and User Acceptance Testing, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between business partners, functional and technical teams, stepping in where needed to clarify, communicate, and provide support.
  • Support the creation of training materials that reflect any new functionalities of systems delivered.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of business readiness planning and Impact analysis.
  • Provide ongoing support during the cut-over, go-live and hypercare phases to address any issues and ensure a smooth transition.

MUST HAVE qualifications:

  • Related university degree and three?plus years’ experience in business or systems analysis OR seven?plus years of previous field/operations experience. Equivalent mix of formal education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate, lead, and manage change.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influence, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated keen awareness of and aptitude for developing interpersonal relationships and building stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and deliver results.
  • Stellar interpersonal skills including building consensus, negotiation, and facilitation.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.

NICE TO HAVE qualifications:

  • CBAP Certification or other formally recognized education in the field of business analysis can be considered as an asset.
  • Working knowledge of client or Dominion systems, specifically around systems supporting Operations and Engineering
  • Oracle
  • Account or Financial experience

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $50.00 and $57.00
