ROLE SUMMARY
Business Analyst / Product Owner responsible for bridging business needs and technical solutions, defining and prioritizing product features, gathering business requirements, and supporting Agile software delivery for transit operations.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct analysis of business processes, workflows and systems.
  • Gather, analyze and document business requirements, user stories, use cases and functional specifications.
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions.
  • Create and maintain process flows, data models and system diagrams.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.
  • Define, prioritize and manage the product backlog.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate stakeholder decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Monitor product performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Interaction: Business Stakeholders, Development Teams, QA Teams

MUST-HAVE HARD SKILLS

  • Minimum 5–7 years of combined experience in Business Analysis and/or Product Ownership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a Transit Agency.
  • Proven experience on projects within the Public Sector.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Bus Operations (dispatch, scheduling, fleet management, maintenance systems and real-time information systems).
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps and Confluence.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and initiate own tasks. (MSP Must Have)

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • CBAP.
  • CSPO.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and requirements.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$69.00 and CA$79.00
