Our Client a leader in the responsible development and safe operations of North American energy infrastructure is looking for a Sr. Project Controller for their Calgary, AB office.

Project Controller – Operations & Maintenance Projects

The Project Controller supports the successful delivery of their Operations & Maintenance (O&M) project portfolio by providing cost management, forecasting, accruals, financial reporting, requisitioning, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) support. The role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of project financial data, ensuring compliance with internal controls and governance requirements, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with Project Managers and stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities, and improve overall project performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost control and budget management for assigned projects.
  • Development and maintenance of project forecasts, cash flows, and accruals.
  • Monthly variance analysis and financial performance reporting.
  • Requisition creation and support of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, including invoice and commitment tracking.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, accounting policies, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor project commitments, actual costs, and forecast accuracy metrics.
  • Support Project Managers with financial insights, decision-making, and risk identification.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, and project teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and invoice payments.

  • Timely and accurate accruals and financial reporting.
  • Compliance with internal controls and governance requirements.
  • Effective management of project commitments and P2P activities.
  • Quality of variance analysis and financial insights provided to Project Managers.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction and support of project delivery objectives.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$90.00
