About the Opportunity
Our client is a Canadian advanced technology organization delivering complex, high-value programs for government and international customers. Their work is subject to strict Government of Canada security regulation, and they are growing quickly across multiple Canadian sites.
What You'll Do
- Own compliance across all aspects of the Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program
- Prepare and maintain Project Security Plans, and liaise with government and intelligence partners as required
- Develop, advise on, and implement Security Requirements Check Lists (SRCLs) for specific projects and bids
- Process personnel clearances through the federal online clearance system and maintain cleared-resource lists by role
- Act as a Designated Official under the CGP (or become one), and conduct security assessments to determine eligibility to access controlled goods using a defined risk matrix
- Support government inspections — physical security, document safeguarding, classified processing, COMSEC, and controlled goods
- Administer sensitive visit clearance requests (RFVs) for visitors accessing protected/classified information, discussions, or secure areas
- Coordinate tracking, storage, and transmittal of incoming and outgoing classified material
- Advise on project physical security requirements so facilities meet Industrial Security Directorate guidelines
- Support bids and proposals from bid/no-bid through contract implementation, flagging security risk to schedule
- Build SOPs, documentation, and training material; deliver ongoing security awareness training
- Perform regular audits, monitor risk, escalate issues, and propose corrective action
- Support security incident handling and attend internal/external program reviews as the security voice in the room
- Act as Alternate Company Security Officer when required; flexibility for occasional after-hours/on-call
What You Bring
- 5–7+ years in an ACSO and/or CSO capacity
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with the Canadian Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program
- Ability to manage 10–20 active files concurrently, with volume peaks, under deadline pressure
- Sound judgment handling complex and sensitive security screening files
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization and with external customers and government stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision inside a team structure
- Post-secondary education in business administration, law enforcement, IT security, or a related field (asset)
- Bilingual French/English (asset)
