Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 6 Months
 

We need PMs who have strong project management and client navigation skills and are not just scrum masters. They are looking for someone who has been on projects with more custom/bespoke app development. Please screen profiles based on this.
 
Key requirements:

  • • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, or other related field), or an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • • Project Management certification (PMP or PRINCE2)
  • • 8+ years of hands-on project management experience
  • • A solid understanding of project delivery methodologies including waterfall and hybrid-agile
  • • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite and to produce and review project deliverables like Project Charter, change records etc.
  • • Must have experience in resource and budget planning across multiple projects
  • • Experience in creating low to medium complexity roadmap of enhancements for custom built applications
  • • Experience in using Azure DevOps Boards as a Product Manager and Scrum Master
  • • Experience in writing, reviewing, and finalizing statements of work
  • • Capable of earning trust and influencing stakeholders without formal authority to required results
  • • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization to achieve broader insights into managing work streams and outcomes
  • • Must have practical, innovative, collaborative, and solution-focused approach to issues.
  • • Demonstrate initiative and skills in communication and negotiation
  • • Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and projects in parallel
  • • Experience in a regulated industry, preferably utilities and specifically electricity transmission development, would be considered an asset
  • Must have worked on app development projects

 
Accountabilities include:
Initiate:

  • • Confirm project scope with Customer, ensuring all required information for the project has been received.
  • Planning:
  • • Establish project scope, schedule, resource and communication requirements.
  • • Determine required stakeholders.
  • • Develops risk management plans.

Executing:

  • • Direct and manage work activities required for the project.
  • • Ensure all aspects of quality are achieved for project deliverables.
  • • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders for input, decisions, and updates.
  • • Manage project priorities and delivery process checkpoint gates.
  • • Identify and resolve project issues.
  • • Manage projects in accordance with legislation, regulations and rules that govern AESO activities.

Monitoring and Controlling:

  • • Validate project progress and quality.
  • • Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date information about project status, schedule, accountabilities, and outcomes.
  • • Validate and control project scope and changes, including schedule changes.
  • • Monitor project resourcing commitments; identify and work to resolve resource conflicts.
  • • Control of project communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • • Identify and mitigate risks, maintaining and monitoring an up-to-date risk register, including project interdependencies.
  • • Report on project progress, risks and other updates to the Program Manager/Director, Customer Grid Access.

Closing:

  • • Close-out of projects as required by client processes.
  • • Identify and implement project management and delivery improvements with the Program Support Team.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$100.00
