Design System Designer – Mobile (iOS and Android)
Role Summary
The Design System Designer is responsible for designing, documenting, and evolving reusable, native mobile (iOS and Android) components and patterns that enable consistent, accessible, and scalable experiences for the client Easy Trade mobile app. The role will also contribute to the design system's AI readiness by helping create structured, reusable assets and documentation that support emerging AI-assisted design and development workflows.
 
Skills and Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in UX and UI design, with demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining design systems for native (iOS and Android) mobile applications
  • Expertise designing detailed component behaviors, visual states, interaction states, error states, accessibility states, and edge cases.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, variables, design tokens, auto layout, documentation, and scalable design system practices
  • Strong understanding of native iOS and Android design patterns, interaction models, accessibility requirements, and platform guidelines.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows and emerging design tooling is an asset.
  • Understanding of AI-ready design system practices, including semantic component naming, structured metadata, reusable patterns, and documentation standards that improve discoverability and reuse by both humans and AI-powered tools.
  • Experience partnering closely with developers to ensure component designs are technically feasible and accurately implemented.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to create production-ready designs and specifications.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain component usage, rationale, and design standards.
  • Practical experience with WCAG accessibility standards and mobile accessibility best practices.
  • Personal experience or interest in self-directed investing is considered an asset but is not required.

 
Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reusable native mobile components, patterns, variants, and interaction models for iOS and Android.
  • Define component specifications, visual standards, interaction behaviors, accessibility requirements, and implementation guidance.
  • Partner with designers, developers, and product teams to identify opportunities for standardization and reuse.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure components are technically feasible, scalable, and accurately implemented.
  • Conduct design reviews and Design QA to ensure adherence to design specifications, accessibility requirements, and design system standards.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation, usage guidelines, and Figma libraries to support adoption and efficient use of the design system.
  • Support design system governance, contribution models, and best practices to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to AI-ready design system assets through structured documentation, semantic naming conventions, metadata, and reusable patterns that support AI-assisted design and development workflows.

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale design systems across multiple teams and products
  • Experience with mobile-first design systems and component libraries.
  • Familiarity with Figma AI, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI-assisted design and productivity tools
  • Experience working with design tokens and design-to-development workflows
  • Familiarity with structured documentation, knowledge bases, or component metadata frameworks

MUST-HAVE Hard Skills:

  • Native mobile (iOS and Android) components and patterns
  • Proficiency in Figma – 3 years
  • Effective communication of conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design approaches/rationales
  • Close collaboration with development teams to ensure that design with the internal team
  • Creative and visually compelling design portfolio with a keen eye for detail.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$71.00 and CA$81.00
