Senior ServiceNow Administrator – Scope of Work
Role Overview
The Senior ServiceNow Administrator will provide operational ownership, administration, and governance of the ServiceNow platform throughout its implementation and ongoing evolution.
The resource will work alongside third-party implementation consultants during Phase 1 to support the platform standup, implementation, and transition into production. Following go-live, the resource will assume ongoing operational ownership of the platform and support its continued sustainment, governance, optimization, and future capability expansion.
Strong ServiceNow administration and platform governance experience will be the primary focus of the role. ServiceNow development and configuration experience is considered an asset and will provide additional flexibility as automation, integrations, and future platform capabilities are introduced. Specialized development requirements may continue to be supported by third-party consultants as required.
Scope of Work
Phase 1 – Foundation and Core Implementation
The resource will work alongside the implementation partner to support the establishment of the ServiceNow platform and foundational master data, including SSO, roles, and initial ITSM and ITAM capabilities.
The initial implementation will include:
- Incident, Change, and Knowledge Management
- Service Requests and Employee Service Center
- CMDB
- Hardware Asset Management
- Software Asset Management
- Contract Management
- Platform Analytics
- Master data, user roles, and SSO
The implementation will follow an out-of-the-box/configuration-first approach, with customization introduced where required.
Data, Asset and Operational Readiness
The resource will support platform and operational readiness activities, including:
- Defining asset taxonomy and ownership models
- Preparing and validating master data
- Establishing assignment groups and process ownership
- Loading and validating priority asset and CI classes
- Supporting CMDB data quality and governance
- Supporting initial discovery and data feeds through Lansweeper while the broader discovery model matures
Go-Live and Operational Transition
The resource will work with the implementation partner and internal stakeholders to support the transition of ServiceNow into production.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Supporting training and knowledge transfer
- Participating in operational handoff from the implementation partner
- Supporting go-live and hypercare activities
- Assuming ongoing administration and operational ownership of the ServiceNow platform following implementation
The current implementation plan consists of a 21-week engagement, with go-live targeted for approximately February/March 2027.
Ongoing Platform Ownership and Future Capability Expansion
Following go-live, the resource will sustain and evolve the ServiceNow environment and support future phases of the platform roadmap.
Future activities are expected to include:
- Maturing CMDB and Discovery capabilities
- Introducing ITOM capabilities
- Expanding automation
- Developing onboarding and offboarding workflows
- Supporting integrations with enterprise platforms, including procurement and financial systems
- Improving asset lifecycle controls
- Enhancing reporting and platform analytics
- Improving platform and CMDB data quality
- Supporting broader Enterprise Service Management capabilities
Core Resource Requirements
The successful resource should demonstrate strong experience in ServiceNow platform administration, operational support, and governance, with hands-on knowledge of ITSM, CMDB, and ITAM environments.
Experience with ServiceNow configuration and development is considered an asset, particularly in support of workflow automation, integrations, and future platform expansion; however, advanced development expertise is not a mandatory requirement, as third-party ServiceNow consultants may be engaged for specialized development needs.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$50.00 and CA$80.00
