Job Title: Training Lead

Location: North Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

The Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting business change initiatives and the successful implementation and adoption of new systems and processes. This position works closely with project teams, business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and Organizational Change Management (OCM) to support business readiness throughout the implementation lifecycle.

For the current phase of the Helm implementation, this role will have a strong focus on training readiness, development and maintenance of training materials, instructor-led delivery, and business change support across multiple Marine releases. The role will work within the training strategy, priorities, and governance established by the OCM Change Lead while independently managing assigned training and change support activities.

  • Facilitate seamless training, business readiness, and hypercare transitions for impacted stakeholders, supporting readiness and successful adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with the OCM team to deliver effective change and training support for Mariners, Shoreside employees, and other impacted stakeholder groups.
  • Participate in relevant requirements, process, and solution validation activities to build a strong understanding of the end-to-end user experience and identify impacts to training and business readiness.
  • Monitor changes to business processes, requirements, and system functionality and identify corresponding impacts to training content and supporting materials.
  • Support the Change Management Team by preparing documentation, developing training materials, and supporting communication and readiness activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain role-based training materials, including instructor-led training presentations, exercises, facilitator guides, user guides, job aids, and other supporting learning assets.
  • Translate complex system functionality and business processes into clear, practical learning content appropriate for operational and frontline audiences.
  • Prepare detailed training delivery requirements for assigned learner groups, including session plans, learner prerequisites, exercises, materials, system requirements, and logistics.
  • Coordinate learner populations, training schedules, attendance, and delivery logistics with business stakeholders and the OCM Change Lead.
  • Personally facilitate and deliver instructor-led and hands-on systems training, both virtually and in person at Marine operating locations.
  • Work with subject matter experts, Business Analysts, business owners, and operational stakeholders to validate the accuracy and completeness of training content.
  • Maintain and refresh training materials as business decisions, processes, and system functionality evolve, including updates to screenshots, scenarios, exercises, and supporting reference materials.
  • Support supplementary facilitators, SMEs, and business resources participating in training delivery to help maintain consistency in content and learner experience.
  • Track training attendance, completion, learner feedback, outstanding populations, and training-related issues and provide regular updates to the OCM Change Lead.
  • Identify training and adoption gaps and recommend appropriate remediation, reinforcement, or post-go-live learning support.
  • Support post-implementation and hypercare activities by gathering feedback, identifying adoption issues, and helping transition knowledge and support to business teams.
  • Serve as a key contributor on the Helm project team, collaborating with Project Management, OCM, business stakeholders, and technical resources to support successful implementation and adoption.

 Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business change support, systems training, business analysis, learning delivery, or a related role within technology implementations.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing and personally delivering instructor-led and systems-based training to end-user populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate system functionality and business processes into clear, practical, role-based learning materials and exercises.
  • Experience developing or adapting training presentations, facilitator guides, exercises, user guides, job aids, and other learning materials.
  • Practical knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles.
  • Experience working within technology implementation projects and collaborating with OCM, Business Analysts, SMEs, project teams, and operational stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly build working knowledge of unfamiliar systems and business processes and identify implications of evolving requirements and solution changes.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage assigned training activities, learner groups, schedules, materials, and delivery requirements within established project direction.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Marine operating locations for in-person training delivery, with travel requirements varying by release and training schedule.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience training frontline, field, operational, or shift-based workforces.
  • Experience with ERP, workforce management, payroll, scheduling, timekeeping, or other operational systems.
  • Experience supporting training across multiple releases or phased technology deployments.
  • Experience participating in requirements, process, or solution validation activities within a technology implementation.
  • Experience supporting multi-facilitator or train-the-trainer delivery models.
  • Marine, transportation, logistics, or similarly operational industry experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Learning & Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prepare and coordinate multiple assigned training sessions, learner groups, locations, and delivery dates within an established training plan.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the confidence and capability to personally deliver instructor-led and hands-on training to technical and non-technical end users.
  • Proven ability to create clear, practical, role-based learning materials that support learner performance and knowledge retention.
  • Ability to quickly build working knowledge of unfamiliar systems and business processes and translate evolving requirements, business decisions, and solution changes into accurate, practical end-user training.
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across OCM, project teams, business leaders, subject matter experts, and operational stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple learner groups, locations, release dates, and competing priorities within established project direction and approved scope.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work independently on assigned training activities, make recommendations, and escalate matters requiring strategic direction or approval.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to session readiness, learner experience, completion tracking, issue escalation, and delivery status reporting.
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in an evolving project environment where documentation, processes, and system functionality may mature progressively.
  • Collaborative, self-directed, and accountable for high-quality execution and end-user training delivery, with a practical focus on learner and business outcomes.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$55.00 and CA$85.00
