ILS Specialist I

Term: 6 months
Location: North Vancouver, BC

The ILS Specialist will support the development of Asset Breakdown Structures (ABS) and Master Equipment Lists (MEL) for marine vessel programs. The role will involve detailed review and analysis of Bills of Materials (BOMs), supplier documentation, OEM data, and maintenance-related information to support vessel lifecycle management and logistics support activities.

The ILS Specialist will conduct the following activities:
Asset and Equipment Data Management

• Develop and maintain Asset Breakdown Structures (ABS) and Master Equipment Lists (MEL).
• Review, validate, and reconcile Bills of Materials (BOMs) against engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and supplier data.
• Validate supplier and OEM information to ensure equipment records are accurate, complete, and traceable.
• Collect, review, and manage equipment warranty information and associated support documentation.
• Establish and maintain equipment hierarchies and asset data structures in accordance with project requirements.
• Support configuration management and equipment baseline development activities.

Technical Documentation and Data Review

• Review technical manuals, maintenance documentation, vendor data, and OEM publications to validate data base.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and procurement documentation to support asset identification and equipment data validation.
• Ensure all deliverables meet project quality standards and contractual requirements.

Project Support

• Follow project schedules and budgets.
• Participate in and chair meetings, workshops, and technical review forums as required.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, suppliers, OEMs, and project stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and obtain missing information.
• Review vendor documentation submissions.
• Provide regular progress updates and status reporting to the Senior ILS Engineer.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the ILS Manager.

Qualifications Required

• Experience developing or maintaining Asset Breakdown Structures (ABS), Master Equipment Lists (MEL), and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience reviewing technical documentation, supplier data, and OEM information.
• Strong data management and analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of equipment and maintenance data.

Preferred

• Engineering or technical diploma/degree.
• Experience in marine, shipbuilding, naval, offshore, or industrial asset management environments.
• Familiarity with equipment hierarchies, configuration management, maintenance planning, and logistics support analysis disciplines.
• Experience working with integrated logistics support (ILS) programs and vessel lifecycle management.

• Marine or Shipbuilding Experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
