Job Title: Accountant III x2

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 12 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial management and reporting of complex joint venture arrangements. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities related to multiple partnership structures.

The Advisor will serve as a key financial liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in optimizing joint venture performance through strong financial controls, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for internal leadership and joint venture partners
  • Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries, including joint venture billings
  • Conduct financial analysis and respond to ad hoc inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Treasury, Tax, Regulatory, Legal, and Financial Reporting
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets for joint ventures and internal management reporting
  • Coordinate cash calls, cash distributions, and related partner communications
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual regulatory filings (including FERC reports where applicable)
  • Perform account reconciliations and monthly variance analysis
  • Support internal and external audit activities, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Maintain compliance with SOX controls and internal financial reporting standards
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives

Scope of Role

This position works across multiple levels of the organization and with external partners to ensure effective financial management of joint venture activities. The Advisor is expected to identify issues, provide insights, and recommend solutions that support financial optimization, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Internal Teams: Business Development, Treasury, Tax, Regulatory, Legal, Economic Evaluation, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Investor Relations, and Operations Accounting

External Partners: Joint venture accounting teams and independent auditors


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant accounting or joint venture experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Experience with joint venture accounting or complex partnership structures preferred
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit processes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels
  • CPA designation preferred but not required

Key Competencies

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $40.00 and $45.00
