Scheduling Application Architect
Our client in the transportation space is seeking an Application Architect with intimate knowledge of Real Time Scheduling Information (RTSI). The RTSI eco-system is a group of 32 critical application that allows staff to manage the day-to-day operations effectively and efficiently, while driving On Time Performance and Customer Satisfaction via accurate, fast and reliable information through multiple channels. Over the years, new capabilities needing operations information, were bolted onto this ecosystem as no enterprise capabilities existed at this time, resulting in today’s RTSI ecosystem with over 60 interfaces and many databases.
In order to upgrade to more modern offered capabilities there is a need to accurately detail the applications, databases and data flows of the current RTSI ecosystems.
Responsibilities include:
- Documenting the process and the outcome of thinking out and specifying the overall structure, logical components, and the logical interrelationships of a computer, its operating system, a network, or other conception.
- Defines the structure and relationship among applications, including the identification of re-usable components, quality level metrics, the organization and layering of software, and the determination of interfaces.
- Defines the interactions between application packages, databases and middleware systems.
Candidate must have:
- Intimate experience with RTSI – Real Time Scheduling Information computing platforms, operating systems, databases, programming languages, communication protocols: Trip Manager, Rail Network, Admin Mgr, Schedule Manager, TrainTrac, Redis DB, MongoDB. Languages such as C#, SQL, Json, Python, html, etc
- Experience in the development and implementation of application architectures at the specified experience level
- Experience with middleware and gateways
- Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments
- Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications
- Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments
- Experience in the use of data and process modelling methodologies, techniques and tools, including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries
- Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models)
- Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and directions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
