Job Title: CAN – IT – Applications Programmer V
Duration: 12 Months
Location: 79 Wellington Street West, Toronto
Work Model: Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite
ROLE SUMMARY
Responsible for leading technical aspects of projects from inception through deployment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Participate in analysis and system design specification sessions
• Document design options and solutions following SDLC methodology
• Ensure adherence to development best practices and architectural principles
• Provide development estimates, weekly status reporting, and budget forecasting
• Configuration management for sub-projects within release
• Coding, testing, packaging, deployment, and production support
• Lead code reviews as required
• Work closely with STEMT to ensure proper environment deployment
• Participate in test strategy, test plans, unit and integration testing
• Provide technical support during testing phases
• Track and triage defects
• Data setup and environment validation
• Coach and mentor junior developers
• Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer upon contract completion

MUST-HAVE HARD SKILLS
• Experience with Cloud environments (MS Azure)
• Experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Analytics, and Regulatory projects
• Advanced proficiency in PySpark, SQL, Power BI, Tableau
• Databricks experience
• Synapse experience
• Project Management experience (working across multiple Pods)
• Experience analyzing large data sets and communicating insights
• Experience with Data/Text Mining, Optimization, Algorithm Development, Automation, Data Visualization, Simulation
• Ability to read and interpret data schemas, metadata, and entity relationship diagrams
• Strong documentation skills
• Strong statistical and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
NICE-TO-HAVE
• Banking / Financial Institution experience
• Law 25 regulation experience
• Experience presenting to senior leadership
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$85.00
