Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic
Start Date: October/November 2024
Location: Vancouver, BC/Lower Mainland 
Pay Rate: Dependent on Level/Hours $29.08/hr – $82.31/hr
Job Duration: FTE/Permanent 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Mechanical Service group who are primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems located on our client’s sites throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

 Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial + Industrial refrigeration/HVAC systems (such as: chillers, roof top units, air handling units, HRV/ERV systems, boilers)
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting commercial and industrial HVAC/refrigeration equipment 
  • Understanding of electrical systems and components, including wire sizing, overcurrent protection, and control systems.
  • Experience with control systems in an asset!

Ideal Certification Qualifications:

– High School Diploma or equivalent
– Journeyperson Trade Qualification as a Refrigeration Mechanic registered in British Columbia (or HVAC Technician) 
Class B-R: Refrigeration Field Safety Representative (FSR) and CFC/ODS Certification
Class B Gas Fitter certification (Class A considered an asset)

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform routine Preventative Maintenance (PM) on commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, equipment schematics, and manufacturers specifications
  • Compile detailed material and labour take-offs
  • Establish, maintain, and communicate up-to-date work schedule
  • Measure, cut, and install piping using all common joining methods
  • Start-up and commission new and refurbished equipment system
  • Respond to emergency repair calls

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$130,000 and CA$150,000
