Job Title: Architectural Designer
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Estimated Duration: 6 months
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural Designer to support the design and development of architectural outfitting and production packages. Strong collaboration with production and planning will be necessary to ensure successful project execution. This role requires strong design skills, proficiency in architectural software, and experience in shipbuilding and design management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare Functional Design (FD) and Production Design (PD) packages.
• Develop and maintain the Colour Coordination Manual.
• Use computer software to solve complex design problems.
• Oversee and own the execution of the design development process.
• Assist senior staff in scoping design work breakdown packages.
• Liaise with vendors and stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Solve outfitting and architectural design problems.
• Ensure competence and consistency in design packages and standards.
• Review specifications and create detailed design work packages.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Engineering degree from a recognized institution.
• P.Eng designation to review and stamp structural foundations a bonus
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CadMatic, Navisworks, or other design software.
• Proven professional experience in shipbuilding and design management.
• Strong architectural design skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to produce design concept documents, presentation drawings, and design details.
• Experience working with multi-discipline project delivery teams and vendors.
• Knowledge of shipbuilding standards and the functional and production design process.
• Strong teamwork skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and through drawings/sketches.
Work Environment:
• Office and production floor environments.
• Occasional travel may be required for stakeholder meetings and vendor coordination.
• Use of appropriate PPE is required.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$43.00 and CA$75.00
