Job Summary
The Associate Manager, Retail Capability Enablement plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and operationalizing business capabilities that support our strategic goals. This position involves leading the development of future-state business requirements, supporting process re-engineering efforts, and driving capability alignment across various functions within retail. The ideal candidate will manage complex projects, facilitate stakeholder workshops, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful capability adoption. Additionally, this role supports both initial capability builds and larger sustainment continuous delivery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute project plans in collaboration with your manager.
- Manage workstreams or key deliverables within the project plan.
- Provide direction to the team and support the development of business analysts assigned to the project.
- Conduct interviews and workshops with various business stakeholders to identify, understand, and document current-state processes and future-state requirements while understanding pain points and enhancement needs.
- Lead the development of future-state business requirements for retail capabilities.
- Facilitate program management deliverables by assessing proposed processes and tools. Identify process impacts, costs, benefits, risks, dependencies, and critical success factors.
- Map current and future process flows, detailing roles and responsibilities in each stage to ensure clarity and alignment with optimized processes
- Drive alignment across functions including Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Replenishment, and Pricing.
- Develop capability adoption roadmaps based on business readiness.
- Identify organizational, process, or data changes required for enablement.
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and go-live activities.
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), decision matrices, and workflow documentation.
- Partner with Change Management leads to complete stakeholder analysis, and design training & communication plans
- Track capability maturity across markets or functions.
- Collaborate with UX, Tech, and Data teams to translate business requirements into specifications.
- Support both initial capability builds and larger sustainment continuous delivery initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Merchandising, Supply Chain, or other functions requiring a comprehensive understanding of key merchandising or retail operations.
- Experience planning and coordinating projects, including facilitating planning sessions in an Agile environment.
- Experience with process and tool development is an asset.
- Proficiency with Lucid and JIRA is an asset.
- High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; able to analyze information objectively, evaluate options, and make well-reasoned decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
