Senior Business Analyst 

Department: Enterprise Solutions Office (ESO)
Reports to: Manager, Business Analysis

Job Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will support the development of the Dental Practice Initiative. The SBA will engage with stakeholders to identify and describe business needs in terms of process and business requirements. The scope of work spans technology, website, data and reporting, payments, and construction/design.


Principal Responsibilities

  1. Elicit information from multiple stakeholders, perform needs/requirements analysis, and assist in identifying problem statements.

  2. Examine and validate business needs and goals. Capture and assess requirements, processes, and business problems to propose solutions and improvements.

  3. Lead evaluation of current-state and future-state business processes, perform gap analysis, and develop/implement process improvement solutions. Produce process models, maps, workflows, and diagrams.

  4. Lead/participate in working groups, information sessions, strategic planning, business capability planning, etc.

  5. Develop test plans and execute them with business units and project stakeholders.

  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine scope, vision, cost-benefit analysis, and risk factors. Help develop solutions, estimates, and project plans aligned with organizational methodology.

  7. Translate conceptual business requirements into clear and simplified documentation for all stakeholders.

  8. Follow organizational standards to maintain service quality and confidentiality.

  9. Develop practices and processes ensuring adherence to quality, change management, and release management standards. Identify strategic opportunities for improved processes or methodologies.

  10. Manage and track requirement status and illustrate connectivity between business goals, requirements, delivered solutions, testing, and validation.

  11. Participate in advancing standards related to emerging technologies.

  12. Analyze and execute reporting metrics, providing recommendations or solutions to enhance business intelligence.

  13. Support enterprise roadmaps by providing guidance on business needs and impacts aligned with organizational strategy.

  14. Provide technical leadership to junior team members and perform other Business Analyst duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  1. University degree, college diploma, or certification in a related field; advanced knowledge of IIBA/BABOK best practices.

  2. 8+ years of progressive experience in business reporting, business analysis, process design, and testing.

  3. Strong organizational skills with project management experience.

  4. Experience with issue-tracking systems, agile/scrum environments, and digital/web/mobile technologies (asset).

  5. Ability to analyze large data sets and present findings for effective business solutions.

  6. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; strong presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills.

  7. Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.

  8. Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Visio, Azure DevOps (ADO) is desirable.

  9. Experience working on multiple projects in parallel.

  10. Knowledge of Educational, Insurance, Financial, or Call Centre industries is an asset.

  11. Proven ability to coach and mentor on business solutions and context.

  12. Process-related certifications/designations or commitment to complete (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.).

  13. Exceptional ability to analyze data and produce business solutions meeting process requirements.

  14. Demonstrated leadership in implementing complex business solutions with internal and external stakeholders.


Working Conditions

  1. General office environment.

  2. May require overtime.

  3. Hybrid work environment supported.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$85.00
