Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Winnipeg, MB (Remote)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Responsibilities:
- Identifies stakeholders of the work, how they are impacted and what their needs and roles are to effectively engage in the effort.
- Facilitates effective communication between business stakeholders and technology resources. Translates moderately complex business/technology information into simple, clear and accurate language to ensure understanding by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Gathers requirements by facilitating meetings, interviewing, and collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure business requirements are clear, concise and relevant and generates related artifacts.
- Liaises with knowledge management services as a subject matter expert in developing associated procedures, documentation, and training for users.
- Performs system integration testing on application changes to ensure requirements are met, data integrity is maintained and works with other integrated production support applications.
- Leads complex initiatives to analyze current behaviour, gather and validate requirements, and perform impact assessments. Collaborates with the production support team and information technology support team to bring forward cost-effective and quality resolutions.
- Develops test plans and test cases.
- Performs user acceptance testing for technical changes, operational requests and data patches on production support applications.
- Coordinates the communication and implementation of solutions to impacted user areas, as a project leader.
- Validates proposed solution for alignment to business needs, requirements, and impacts to operations, processes, technology, vendors, partners and clients.
- Participates in sprint and cycle planning with the agile team.
- Creates and updates application specifications, system use cases, business use cases and/or associated business rules and system rules for multiple production support applications.
- Analyzes product backlog items or bugs and creates user stories or technical user stories on the agile framework.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or diploma in Business Analysis, or a related discipline.
- Three years of related analytical experience conducting process analysis, documenting system and business requirements, and performing complex data analysis.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate a diversified work group/project team.
- Strong strategic and tactical planning skills to align business and technology objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to assess operational impacts and recommend effective solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively across both business and technical teams.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story creation.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with experience creating requirements, test plans, use cases, and process documentation.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$80.00
